Street-paper vendors record their everyday life / "Shedia" Photography exhibition.

  The photography exhibition “Images of Our Other Self” was successfully held this March at the Center of Contemporary Art of Thessaloniki as part of the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.  The works are street documents of the cities of Athens and Thessaloniki, photographed by the vendors of “Shedia” street paper.

The "Shedia" photographers are fellowmen who experience hardships as a result of the country’s current economic and social crisis.
This exhibition started back in 2013, when a small group started attending photography seminars, trying to develop new communication tools with the entire society, to feel part of a collective effort to create.
Their aim is not only to photograph, but rather to communicate, to tell human stories that affect us all.

"Shedia" is the only Greek street paper and it is distributed in the street of Athens and Thessaloniki since Febrouary 2013. The vendors are able to gain a minimum income from selling the street paper, as 50% of the sale goes directly to them.
