The Thom Browne men collection 2015 is featured on the blog today. The New York based designer with the theatrical flair presented a unique, powerful and playful collection. As he said, he was inspired by the movie "Tron" and the video games.

Lots of angles and folded points constructed an almost tecktonik clothing that moved with each joint.

SPECIMEN II , embroidery.

Featuring two works of Harriet Maxwell on the blog today. She is a textile artist working with an Irish stitching machine which she uses as a drawing tool. She uses embroidery in a way that results in the fabric being gathered into small folds and wrinkles.
As she says: "My work has recently become more focused on stitch. Rather than simply focusing on the surface of the skin, I feel that stitch allows me to construct the flesh, building up thread to reference layers of skin,The direction and density of the stitch contribute to a rippling effect, a rising and falling, which produces an almost sculptural outcome".
